Dear Collingswood and Oaklyn Families,
Closing schools is something we take seriously. Ultimately, the safety of students and staff is our priority. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Monday, January 6, 1:00 am until Tuesday, January 7, 1:00 am.
The Winter Storm Warning currently calls for heavy snow with possible accumulations of 3 to 6 inches for the region. Travel could be very difficult impacting the morning and evening commutes. The weather is expected to taper off later Monday afternoon into Monday night.
Out of an abundance of caution, all Collingswood and Oaklyn schools and offices will be closed tomorrow. All after-school activities including athletic programs scheduled for Monday are canceled as well.
The Collingswood Board of Education Re-organization Meeting will be rescheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Same location - Collingswood HS Cafe, same time 6:30 pm.
We are continuing to monitor weather conditions across our region. We anticipate returning to normal operations on Tuesday, January 7. We will keep you informed should there be any changes to the schedule.
Wishing all our students a safe and fun snow day.
Fred McDowell, Ed.D.
Superintendent
