Our students had a great experience at our Black History Month learning stations activities, where they gained insight about black history through learning about the historical and cultural significance of hair styles and hair braiding. Students listened to read alouds, watched informational videos, read an article, and participated in hands on activities together in our all purpose room. Thank you to our PTA, parent volunteers, and teachers for coordinating these great experiences for our students!

For Ms. Curley’s polar bear unit, Room 124 pretended to have Polar Bear blubber on their hands and feel the difference in the water temperature with and without “blubber.” We used Crisco shortening and plastic baggies to feel the difference. What a fun way to learn about polar bears!
