As discussed at the March 5th Town Forum, Borough officials, the Board of Education President, and the Superintendent met on Thursday, March 6, and again on Saturday, March 8, to review and discuss a draft plan for partnership proposed by the Borough. The Board of Education presented an updated plan on March 8. Plans aim to address the immediate budget crisis facing our schools and explore long-term sustainable funding solutions.
The Borough and School District have reached a preliminary agreement on the key elements of a comprehensive plan that meets community needs and aligns with our shared goals:
Tax-neutral and cost-saving measures
Exploring shared service opportunities
Direct financial assistance for 2025-2026
Ongoing senior citizen tax relief
Capital improvements and equity
Improvements to school fields, community parks, and recreation
Support valued teachers and staff
The Borough and School District will be working together to issue a joint statement and will present the plan collaboratively to the community in the coming days.
